It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
